When we moved to Virginia, we were initially referred to Matt Taylor by the local Credit Union that financed our mortgage. We had our homeowners insurance with him. At that time, he was a broker for Farmers Insurance. Farmers offered discounts for homeowners who also bought car insurance, so we eventually also insured our cars through Matt. A few years ago, Matt went independent. He managed to quote us a price from Progressive that was lower for the same coverage so we stayed with Matt rather than with Farmers. After that, we transferred to Travelers, on his suggestion, when Matt quoted us a lower price from them. This is sort of ironic, since that is who we had been buying auto insurance from when we switched to Matt. We stay with Matt because we know him, although at this point I am not sure that he is giving us the best deal. I need to check on that. But, we now have a teenage driver and so it is hard to compare. We feel some loyalty to Matt.
