Personally, I have been with State Farm for 21 years and have always had exceptional service and super rates. When I was diagnosed with epilepsy and only needed homeowners insurance, they were fantastic. When I married, they not only matched, but they absolutely smashed my husband’s insurance rates, so we stuck with State Farm. Our service was always wonderful until our life progressed and we needed to file two claims; one for a car accident and one for a weather related incident on the house. The car was approved, but it was costly ($28,000), but the house was dismissed. After that we received a letter in the mail that warned us to not file any additional claims or our insurance might be canceled. After 21 years of never having a late payment and filing two claims we were mystified. We asked Mr. Ellis to review our file and he agreed that that our house claim was not payable (our contractor and builder both disagreed with State Farm) and reminded us that our rates were going to increase. Since then I have started looking for a new insurance company. I adore State Farm, but they need to go back to their practices of 21 years ago.
