Our previous agent was a family friend of our in-laws. When she retired, current agent inherited her files. I haven’t had much contact with him. I assume that the coverages we selected continue to be appropriate. I just filed a claim last week for an issue with a roof leak. It was after hours, so I called the claims line directly and filed the claim. I heard back from the claims person, but not directly from the agent. I’m not totally sure what the agent’s role in insurance is supposed to be–just to select the coverage or to take an active part in the process of selecting and updating insurance. I don’t think he’s done much with us in terms of selecting or looking over coverages–it’s just kind of the person on the policy sheet when we renew things.
