I generally don’t interact with my insurance agent unless there is an issue or change that I need to make in my policy. After I’d been living in the area for a year, Ron reached out to me to meet to discuss my insurance plan. I think he wanted to try to sell me some other kinds of insurance (I’d been receiving cards in the mail regarding life insurance) and expand my existing policy, but we ended up changing my existing policy to a higher deductible because the value of my vehicle had changed.
I met with one of Ron’s assistants a year later to change my vehicle and to place my husband on the policy. His assistant did not input the data on our vehicle correctly, and we ended up receiving an inflated bill in the mail. Several phone calls and an office visit later and the policy was fixed; however, I continued to have issues with the policy. Our bills were delivered to the wrong address because the system was not updated in all locations (evidently, there are 2-3 areas online and several in their office’s database that must be updated), and I had to spend several phone calls sorting that out.
We haven’t had any issues since that time, and have overall been pleased with State Farm and our insurance agent. Issues happen, and as long as they are quickly resolved it’s alright.
