1. Tom initially came off as a nice guy, but he made some comments that I perceived to be somewhat rude and unnecessary. The tone in his voice was very condenscending anytime I asked questions about how the process worked, since this was my first time going through a third-party insurance agent. He also made note about how he noticed that my grandmother was not in her typical cheery mood and asked if I was the reason causing it that day. I found this remark to be very inappropriate. So, although I thought Tom was friendly, social, and smiled a lot in the beginning, the comments he made and topics he spoke about now makes me think that he is arrogant, rude, and passive-aggressive. If my family had not recommeneded this insurance company, and their prices were so low, I would have gone somewhere else. He told me that his mother works there, and I’m pretty sure that it’s thanks to her that he got this and is able to keep this job. All the other agents I’ve spoken to there periodically were much more professional and approachable. Although Tom is an adult male, his speech reminded me of an inappropriate teenage boy. I didn’t know what to say back to his side comments most of the time, so I just laughed awkwardly.
